Product Description

The Passion of Jesus Christ is an Oratorio-length composition in eight movements, commissioned to observe the 500th anniversary of the Reformation and the 125th anniversary of Concordia College in Moorhead, MN.
The piece, performed by the 400 members of The Concordia Orchestra, Concordia's four choirs and voice faculty, brings audience members closer to the powerful scenes from Christ's procession into Jerusalem, the Last Supper, the Garden of Gethsemane, the trial before Pilate and the crucifixtion. In addition to telling the story of the Passion, music and text reveal moments when major figures struggle with the motivation and implication of their actions.
Recorded live in Orchestra Hall, Minneapolis on April 8, 2017
